Paris Chic Code LLC ("Paris Chic Code," "we," "us," or "our") helps women relocate to France and build bicontinental lives. We primarily serve clients based in the United States, and we work from both the United States and France, so the information you share with us travels with our work between the two. We take the trust you place in us seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
This policy applies to parischiccode.com, our newsletter, our booking and payment flows, our gift cards, and our consulting services. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to, which have their own policies.

Paris Chic Code LLC is a California limited liability company. Our founder divides her time between the San Francisco Bay Area and Paris, and we serve clients from both locations. For clients who are in, or relocating to, France or elsewhere in the European Union, Paris Chic Code LLC is the data controller of the personal information described in this policy for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information you give us
Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, and your name if you choose to share it.
Contact and enquiry forms: your name, email address, and anything you write in your message.
Bookings: when you book a Readiness Session or other appointment through Calendly, your name, email address, time zone, appointment details, and your answers to our intake questions.
Payments: when you pay through Stripe, your name, email address, billing address, and payment details. Your full card number is collected and stored by Stripe, not by us. We see only limited details such as the card brand, the last four digits, and the transaction amount.
Gift cards: when you buy or redeem a gift card through Gift Up, the purchaser's name and email, the recipient's name and email (if provided), any personal message, the gift card code, and its balance.
Client engagements: if you become a client, information you choose to share so we can deliver your services. Depending on your pathway, this may include your nationality and residency plans, visa and travel documents, housing preferences, household and family details, income or proof-of-funds documents needed for a visa or rental dossier, and lifestyle preferences.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring website, and approximate location (country or city level). Much of this is collected through cookies, described in Section 7.
Information from others
If someone buys you a gift card, refers you to us, or books a session on your behalf, we receive the details they provide about you.
-
We use personal information only for the purposes below. For clients protected by the GDPR, we have also listed the legal basis we rely on for each purpose.
To deliver our services, including scheduling and holding consultations, preparing your roadmap, dossier, and deliverables, and coordinating with partners you ask us to introduce. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
To process payments, gift cards, refunds, and credits, such as applying your $250 Readiness Session fee as a credit toward a later pathway. Legal basis: performance of a contract; compliance with legal obligations.
To respond to your enquiries. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
To send our newsletter and marketing emails. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
To run, secure, and improve our website, including preventing spam and fraud and understanding how visitors use our pages. Legal basis: our legitimate interests; your consent for non-essential cookies.
To keep business, tax, and accounting records. Legal basis: compliance with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Relocation work sometimes involves documents that are especially personal, such as passports, visa applications, and financial statements. We ask for these only when they are needed for the service you have chosen, we limit access to them, and we share them only with the partners you have asked us to work with (for example, an immigration lawyer). Please do not send us health information or other special-category information unless we specifically need it and have explained why.
-
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need. These providers process information on our behalf and under their own privacy and security commitments. They currently include:
Calendly (appointment scheduling and intake questions)
Stripe (payment processing)
Gift Up (gift card sales and redemption)
GoDaddy Email Campaigns (newsletter delivery)
Squarespace (website hosting, forms, and site analytics)
Google (email, documents, and video consultations via Google Meet; spam protection via reCAPTCHA)
With your permission, we also introduce you to and share relevant information with independent professionals in our partner network, such as immigration, tax, legal, financial, and real estate specialists. These partners act on their own behalf once engaged by you, and their own privacy policies apply.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
Our website also links to third-party sites, such as our ShopMy curated edits and our social media pages. Some of these links may be affiliate links. When you click through, those sites may collect information under their own policies.
-
Because we operate bicontinentally, your information is accessed and used in both the United States and France. Most of our service providers, including Calendly, Stripe, Gift Up, Squarespace, and Google, store data in the United States. Some of our partner professionals, such as French immigration lawyers, real estate agents, and banks, are based in France and receive information only when you ask us to make an introduction.
Once you relocate, or while you are in France, the GDPR may also protect your information. When personal information moves from France or the European Union to the United States, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the provider's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You may contact us for more information about these safeguards.
-
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use:
Strictly necessary cookies, which make the site work (for example, keeping a shopping cart, remembering your cookie choices, and protecting forms from spam). These do not require your consent.
Analytics cookies, which help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
Third-party cookies set by embedded tools such as Calendly, Stripe, Gift Up, and Google reCAPTCHA when you use them.
For visitors in France and the EU, we will only place analytics and other non-essential cookies after you accept them in our cookie banner. You can accept or decline, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in our website footer or through your browser settings. Declining non-essential cookies will not stop you from using the site.
-
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:
Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 2 years after our last contact.
Client files and engagement documents: for the duration of our work together and up to 3 years afterward, so we can support follow-up questions, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Payment, invoice, and accounting records: as long as required by tax and accounting law (generally up to 10 years).
Gift card records: until the card is redeemed or expires, plus the period required for accounting records.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.
-
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including trusted providers with strong security practices, encrypted connections, and limited access to client files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
-
Your rights depend on where you live. As our clients often begin this process in the United States and finish it in France, you may hold rights under U.S. state law, the GDPR, or both. These may include the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Delete your information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
Restrict or object to certain uses of your information, including direct marketing.
Receive your information in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
Give instructions about how your information is handled after your death (France).
To exercise any of these rights, email info@parischiccode.com. We will respond within one month, or within the time required by your local law. We may need to verify your identity first. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
If you are in France or elsewhere in the EU, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In France, this is the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), www.cnil.fr. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion and correction; and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
If you live in another U.S. state, you may have similar rights under your state's privacy law. Contact us and we will honor applicable requests.
-
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent relocating with children, any information you share about them is used only to plan your family's move (for example, school research) and is handled with the same care as your own. If you believe a child has given us information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.
-
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If changes are significant, we will let you know by email or a notice on our website.
